Farm Day

On Tuesday Hudson had Farm Day at school. They brought in all kinds of farm animals to pet, they painted pumpkins, played games, and had a special snack. Naomi and I got to go and spend the morning with him and his class. I also got the chance to read his class a story. We had a blast! Here are some of the pictures from Tuesday...

I've never seen a cow with long hair, and I'm a country girl! This was the best shot of the two kids. It impossible at this age to get one of them looking at me while standing next to an animal.

The school had a special photo station set up to take pictures. Some of the kids dressed up like farm animals. For whatever reason, I've never been able to get Hudson to dress up. We'll see how it goes tonight. He has a fireman's costume and they are going Trunk or treating at their Mimi's and Pop pop's church tonight. As you can see Hudson refused to look at the camera.
Here he is in his classroom with his special gifts from his teachers.

Birthday Beauty Queen
Here is Naomi using her new beauty set. She loves to sit here and get ready. She is so girly. I could have never imagined my daughter being so prissy.
This is a shot of Naomi playing with her new art desk.

Book Fair
Hudson's school also hosted a book fair. Gran purchased some books for them this year. Here they are will all there new books. Check out Hudson's grin...He loves books.

Okay so I don't know why I did this, but I just now realized that I posted this picture sideways. (That's what happens when you are trying to post with two preschoolers in the room!) Anyway we got this book called The Kissing Hand. It was suggested to us by one of the preschool coordinators at church. Hudson has been having a difficult time with Sunday school. He cries the entire time. I'm not sure what to do with him. I read him this book and we will try the kissing hand on Sunday morning. I'll let you know how it goes.
But for now please help!
If you have any suggestion on what we should do let me know!

October Craziness!

Mi Casa Su Casa
October has been a crazy month for us. It has literally flown by. I keep thinking I need to update my blog, but then time just hasn't permitted. I guess the kids getting to bed and the kitchen getting cleaned really are important and do come before updating the blog.
This month we had the honor of hosting some dear friends of ours. They spent a total of 8 days with us off and on throughout the month. They are the ones who have graciously allowed us to live in their house until it sells or until the Lord leads us on. Shana and I have been friends since 2002, before we both got married. They are now overseas and we all are missing them very much!
This is them and their entourage as they were loading up and heading to the airport. Here is Naomi and Truette sitting in the driveway as they were getting the last of their things packed and ready for the trip.
Did I mention that they are GA Tech fans!
We love you guys and will miss you!

Love Loud
Our Church did an event this past week called Love Loud. It could be described as a mission trip in your own back yard. There were several groups in the church reaching out to our community in a number of different ways. Some of the ministry projects included car care, haircuts, carpentry, painting, and much more to help people in our community with needs. Our Sunday school class decided to partner with a Medical/Dental team that was offering free medical and dental help! This team of doctors decided to use their training as a way to share the gospel with people in the community. They set up a clinic in the basement of the B building at church and after people were registered they would come through the evangelism department. That is where Davin and I were serving. We got to explain to people how we cared about them and their physical needs, but that they also had a spiritual need as well. I was able to sit down and share with two different women who both prayed with me to receive Christ as their savior! What an amazing experience.

Happy Birthday Naomi!

Somehow my pictures loaded in reverse order. But anyway, We celebrated the last two wonderful years of Naomi's life the other night. We invited our families over and cooked a big pot of chili.
What a delight and pleasure Naomi has been. We love her dearly and can't believe how fast she is growing up. Here is a photo of her new dress up shoes. She clunked around the house in these until I put them away. I was afraid she would fall and twist her ankle. Maybe next year she can wear them! She received lots of fun toys, dress up clothes, an art desk, little people, and ponies. She also got money to go on a fall/winter shopping spree. Thanks to everyone who made her day so special.

Here is her my little pony cake. I used to love ponies as a child. In fact, I still love horses. I think I get that from my dad. Naomi is a horse lover as well. She calls them "yeah-yeahs"Naomi is very feminine. Davin and I got her a make-up set. It's all plastic, but it has a working hairdryer and all the essentials a girl needs to get ready. She loves to sit next to me while I'm getting ready and put her make-up on.

Davin's new job

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post! I've got to do a better job. My new goal is to do one a week.

October has been a very busy month. We've had house guests, a job hunt, love loud, Davin preaching, and all other everyday activities mixed in. I will post some pictures of some stuff later. Just wanted to let everyone know that Davin started work today with Regions Bank. He will be working at the North point location in Alpharetta! Yeah! He will be the Financial Service Specialist. That's the first person you meet when you come into the bank. I am so excited for him.

Please keep praying that the Lord would continue to guide us in the direction he would have for ministry. We know that Davin is called to be a Pastor and we are longing for that day!
