Easter Sunday

"Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. An behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. The angel said to the women. 'Do not be afraid: for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.'"
-Matthew 28:1-6
What an awesome privilege to worship and serve our risen Lord! Easter Sunday is such a special time of worship and is one of our favorite times of year. I love getting the kids dressed up in new clothes. Here are some photos of them before we left for church on Sunday. Nice BIG cheesy grin!
Hudson goes to Children's Choir on Sunday nights. They performed two songs during our Sunday morning service. Look close! Hudson is hiding behind the Ansleigh Reed (in the pink sweater) He hid during both songs. He knows all the words. (because that is all we have listened to in the car for the last several weeks) I think just getting up in front of everyone was brave enough.
What a wonderful time we had worshiping the Lord.

Here are some pictures we took after church. We tried to get a good one of all four of us, but it didn't work out.
How handsome are Davin and Hudson! This is Hudson's first suit. He love to do whatever Daddy does. If Davin comes home and puts on basketball shorts, then Hudson goes and puts his basketball shorts on.

Keep scrolling down. There are two other Easter posts!

Big Girl Shoes and Chocolate Bunnies

Okay so Naomi has hit the stage where she loves shoes, especially Mom's. I had to add this photo to the blog because it is just so cute. Look at that face! Here is a photo of Hudson taking a bite of his chocolate bunny that Mimi and Pop-Pop sent him.
This is Naomi's new smile. She scrunches up her nose at you. How cute? Oh and excuse the big orange carrot in her mouth.

Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter our Church hosts an annual Easter Egg Hunt. Here are some of the fun pictures.
This was Naomi's first egg hunt. She really didn't care too much about the eggs. Hudson had a great time running around with all his friends. He really did a good job hunting eggs.
My biggest challenge of the day was getting a photo of the two of them together. We got them matching outfits for brother sister photos they had taken on Friday. I love it when siblings match!
Here's the whole crew.
They had two rounds of egg hunting. While they were hiding eggs the second time the kids all came in and got a snack. Our children's pastor Jody shared the resurrection story with the kids using resurrection eggs. Hudson was paying close attention and now shares the story over and over again with us.

Here is Naomi with Hudson's play cell phone. (You know the kind that is real, but doesn't work anymore) It has been the toy of choice around the house lately.
Here is what happens after Hudson sees that Naomi has his cell phone. We are working on asking for things back rather than snatching. We don't always do what we should, huh?
Isn't this the perfect shot. Now only if I could get them to turn around!

Family Fun

We are finally all healthy and well. Naomi has started sitting at the table like a big girl. She can sit in the chair all by herself, but she just won't stay seated. We took her to Babies'R'Us and got her a new chair to sit in. She was so proud to sit at the table and eat dinner with everyone else. Here is a cute shot of her in her new chair! You can tell by the smile how proud she is of herself.
Here is Hudson and Naomi. They are beginning to enjoy each others company and actually play together. However, it usually turns into a wrestling match. The other night we heard giggles coming from the bedroom and I thought nothing of it. If they are happy let them be, right? Well, a few minutes later Naomi lets out her scream of terror and Davin goes in to find Hudson in the crib with Naomi. I guess it's fun until someone gets hurt, huh? Here is a shot of Hudson. Look at how tall he is! He can almost see into the sink with out any help.
Some good friends of ours had a birthday party for their son David Jr. It was lots of fun with horseback riding and all. Here are the kids having their photos taken as cowboys. What a face!

Okay, so Hudson didn't want to ride the horse. Naomi got closer and actually wore the helmet. She didn't ride, but she did get to pet the horse and then she stuck her finger in his eye. Poor horsey! Some exciting moments...

Naomi made her first pee pee in the potty. Before bath time I sat her on the potty with a book. She seemed to know what to do. She wouldn't let me get her up until she made a pee pee.
Not quite potty training, but we can wait on that.

Okay so I decided to make yeast rolls from scratch the other day. You know like the kind you get at O'Charlies, yum! While I was kneading the dough Hudson was redecorating the bathroom with the hand soap. I thought he was washing his hands, and when I went in to check on him he had covered the counter tops and mirror with soap, along with Naomi's hair. It was so thick I had to give her a bath to get it all out. She didn't seem to mind the new hairdo. She must have thought it looked nice since I was taking pictures.
As you could see from some of the previous pictures. Hudson needed a haircut! We like it long. We just didn't want him to be confused with being a girl. (Which did happen!) It took me 45 minutes of convincing him to sit still, and telling him that I wouldn't hurt him with the scissors. Here is the final result.

Quick update

We are finally doing better. We all ended up with some type of infection, and all four of us are on antibiodics. We went back to church last night for AWANA, and it was so good to be back on our schedules. I have some fun pictures I will post later. Thanks to everyone who was praying for us and especially to Mimi (Davin's mom) for flying in on short notice to take care of us last Saturday and Sunday. We really appreciate it!
