Father's Day 2008

Friday night we got a call from Pastor Johnny wanting to meet us and another couple for dinner. What a privilege to spend a Friday night eating out with the new President of the Southern Baptist Convention! Here we are with Pastor and David and Heather Wise. We had a great time hanging out and meeting new friends. Thanks Pastor !
We were delighted to be able to spend Father's day with our families. It was a busy day filled with worship, family, and fun. We started our day very early. We are members at First Baptist Woodstock and our Sunday School starts at 8:10. Because we are living 45 mins North of Woodstock we have to leave the house early. So, no fun breakfast for us, but we did enjoy an incredible lunch with Davin's parents and grandparents. Then we headed back up to Jasper to spend dinner time with my family.

Here we are after church. Have I mentioned how hard it is to get a good family shot these days! I know these are out of order but here are the fathers present at my parent's house on Father's Day. From left to right are my dad, my brother Ray, my brother-in-law Eric, and my sweet husband. The only one missing is my other brother-in-law Larry. (Davin's shirt is wet because he had been in the pool earlier.)
Here is a very sweet shot of Pop Pop and Naomi. He had been out of town for a while working, and she had been asking about him. She was very excited to finally see him.
Okay, so I had mentioned before that I would try to give Hudson some swimming lessons. Here he is about to jump off the diving board and swim to the edge. My brother Ray was in the pool catching the kids as they jumped off. Hudson loves getting in the pool!

Here he is in mid-air! What fun!

Here is a really cute picture of my niece Lila and Naomi. Gran fixed them both up with pig-tales.

I'm not really sure what to say about this photo other than yes that is my son sleeping in a swing, and wearing red overalls. Hudson had an accident at Mimi's house and this was the only option. He insisted on wearing them without a shirt. The overalls actually belonged to Davin when he was a boy.

Lord, You have done great things!

Sorry that this post is a little late coming, as you know it takes a while to get set-up in a new place.

On May 30, 2008 we said goodbye to our little home in Wake Forest. Here is a photo of our front door. As we drove down the road toward Georgia the words of this song resonated with me as I thought about all that happened in this place...

"Lord, You have done great things.
And we are filled with joy"

There are too many praises to mention them all, but here are a few... The birth of our baby girl, provision for all of our needs, and a deeper walk with the Lord. The Lord did great great things here in our lives and the joy of the Lord overwhelms us!

Here is Davin with our neighbors Patrick and Josh. They helped us load the truck until 12:15am! And look they all have big smiles on their faces. Thank you also to Sean who came and helped us load as well.
This is one last shot of me and Davin in our almost empty apartment. It took us 9 hrs to load the truck and 5 to clean the apartment. As you can imagine we were tired, but grateful that our kids were at their grandparents.
Look at the confidence on my hubby's face. He did an amazing job driving the truck all the way to Georgia. Hudson thought the truck was cool and wanted to help daddy unload all our stuff.
I thought you might like to see what fun the kid's have been having at Gran's(Alisia's parents) house. We are staying with my parents in Jasper until we can relocate. Here is a shot of their back yard. Fun, huh! If you look close you can see the sand box on the left. They also have a kiddie pool and swing set.

Maybe Hudson and I will work on swimming lessons while we are here. And the rule is all little ones must wear a life jacket at the pool. We've had a good time at the pool this week. My parents have been out of town, so Davin and I have been in charge of taking care of the house and let me just say we've had plenty to do.
Here is Hudson riding his power jeep in the yard while Davin mowed the grass.
He also helped Davin was his car.

Another fun treat about being at Gran's is seeing cousins. Here is Naomi with her cousin Lila.
One day last week we took the kids over to the lake. Davin's grandparents live on lake Allatoona. Davin and his grandfather took Hudson out on his first canoe ride. It has really been a blessing to be close to family. We miss all our dear friends from Wake Forest, and hope you all are doing well.
We also have a huge praise!!!

Davin started work yesterday with a company called Academy Roofing. It is an incredible company that does excellent work. He will be working on their sales team. He is training this week with Stephen McGrew. The McGrew's are very dear friends of ours. We are so grateful for them and praise the Lord for his provision during this time. Davin is still pursuing the position of Senior Pastor. We know that it takes time to bring on a new pastor so until the Lord opens that door Davin will be selling roofs. The company's website is http://www.theroofingprofessor.com/ if you want to go and check them out, or if you need a new roof!

Also we just got new Cell numbers...
